12/9/19: MISSION BBQ Opens 12th Location in Pennsylvania

MISSION BBQ in Wilkes Barre, PA Grand Opening on December 9

MISSION BBQ opened its 87th location in Wilkes Barre, PA on Monday, December 9. The event began at 12 noon with the singing of Our National Anthem performed live by a local Uniformed American Hero. The ribbon cutting ceremony followed immediately afterwards. 

This location is the 12th in Pennsylvania for the restaurant known for its traditional American BBQ with a hefty side of patriotism. For co-founders Bill Kraus and Steve Newton, the opening of another Pennsylvania location brings the growth of MISSION BBQ full circle. The restaurants will continue to expand throughout the eastern half of the United States with current plans to end 2019 with over 90 units of operation. 

As is tradition with the opening of every MISSION BBQ, the Wilkes Barre location hosted charity nights throughout the week leading up to the Grand Opening with all sales donated to organizations chosen by local fire and police departments in the Wilkes Barre Community, as well as the USO of Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey.

MISSION BBQ in Herndon, VA hosts Military Appreciation Night

The new MISSION BBQ in Herndon, VA will host an open to the public Military Appreciation Night on Friday, December 13. The event will be held from 6 pm – 9 pm and all sales will be donated to the USO of Washington-Baltimore Metropolitan. In addition, the first 100 people to purchase an American Heroes Cup at that event will receive Free BBQ for a Year.

As is tradition with the opening of every MISSION BBQ, the Herndon location Grand Opening will be on Monday, December 16 at noon with a live rendition of the National Anthem followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony. Doors open immediately afterward. Private Party events will also be held to support the local Fire and Police Charities in the Herndon Community.

On this anniversary of the armistices of WWI that created Veterans Day, we come together to honor the brave men and women in service and remember their history. We thank them for their continued dedication and loyalty as well as the sacrifices they’ve made to keep Our Country free. 

WHEN:Monday, November 11: All Locations, 11 am – 8 pm. Free sandwiches and cake for all Veterans and active duty military personnel. Live performance of Our National Anthem at 12 Noon.
